Victor first explored designing by cutting up, mixing and sewing together his father’s old sweaters. That initial exercise has become part of the Victor Glemaud brand DNA, as each piece features a signature cut-out somewhere in the design. Prior seasons have drawn inspiration from Lucio Fontana, a concept that carries through now but in an evolved way. Spring was inspired by the idea of a Parisian femme (Victor himself lived in Paris for a time). In this collection, he played with negative space to accentuate lovely parts of the body not often seen, like the nape of the neck and the collarbone. Here, a schoolboy pullover vest gets an interesting (and feminine) update.
